Maintenance Clerk

Overview:

Lakin Tire West, LLC. is a leading tire recycling facility committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship. We specialize in the efficient and eco-friendly processing of used tires, turning them into valuable products and reducing landfill waste.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Clerk to join our team and support our mission. The Maintenance Clerk will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery used in tire recycling processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in maintenance operations and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing & Receiving- Support Maintenance department with necessary purchasing and receiving activities including issuing POs and invoice reconciliation/submittal to AP.
  • Time Keeping- Support Maintenance Manager with time recordkeeping through ADP.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and parts, ensuring timely reordering and availability.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Prepare reports as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Assist the Maintenance Manager with all safety regulations and company protocols including training and documentation.
  • Coordination: Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and other team members to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Computer Maintenance Management System Software: Use of CMMS to perform and track maintenance data, create work orders, scheduling, reporting analysis, training, compliance, and safety.
  • Backup to scrap operation assistant logistic duties as needed.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Engineer or General Manager.

Qualifications & Competencies

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing or recycling environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to document and report maintenance activities effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional light to medium lifting and carrying (from one to 30 pounds)
  • Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or respond to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Sitting is required most of each workday. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds is sometimes required. Must possess mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work areas.

Hourly Range:

  • $23.00-$28.00 / Hour
